Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant
Alberta employers can recover 50% of GoPhish session costs through CAPG, up to $5,000 per employee per year — or 75%, up to $10,000 per trainee, if you're hiring and training a previously unemployed Albertan. GoPhish qualifies as eligible third-party workforce training.
The Math
CAPG reimburses 50% of eligible training costs for existing employees (up to $5,000/employee/year), or 75% if the trainee is a previously unemployed Albertan you're hiring (up to $10,000/trainee/year). GoPhish is $180/person, $900 minimum per session (under 5 attendees).

Does GoPhish Qualify?
Yes. GoPhish meets the CAPG definition of eligible third-party workforce training:
- Delivered by a third-party trainer — not by the employer
- Alberta-based employer and employees
- Workplace-relevant skill (cybersecurity awareness)
Before the Session: Application
CAPG recommends applying 30+ days before your session as a buffer for approval. The hard rule is narrower: training can't start until your application status shows "Application Received" — no retroactive filing once training has begun.
- Create your Alberta.ca Account for Organizations — allow 3–5 business days for verification
- Gather your WCB account number and business registration number
- Submit your attendee list at booking — WILDCARD sends the training package automatically within 24 hours: course description, learning objectives, trainer credentials
- Submit through your Alberta.ca account: attach the WILDCARD training package and your intended session date
- Application status changes to "Application Received" once every trainee clicks "I confirm" on the consent email CAPG sends them — training can't start before that
Book early. Your training package is generated automatically once your attendee list is in, so booking early keeps your 30-day filing buffer intact.
What WILDCARD Provides
- Course description and learning objectives (formatted for CAPG submission)
- Trainer credentials and qualifications
- Payment receipt showing total cost, payment date, and provider name (issued at booking — GoPhish is billed upfront)
- Attendance record naming each attendee, confirming completion
After the Session: Final Claim
You submit your Training Completion form through the Alberta.ca portal within 30 days of the session ending — miss that window and you risk losing the reimbursement:
- Attach the payment receipt from WILDCARD
- Attach the attendance record
- Confirm completion dates and employee names match your application
- Submit — CAPG reimburses after reviewing the form; the government doesn't publish a fixed turnaround time
